help me please?
Hey Babygurl,
I, as a guy, think that a great date would be with you! I might like to do the things that I like, but I would be more flattered if you did something special that we both would remember:
Maybe a night show at the local Planetarium followed by a dinner under the stars (outdoors at a decent restaurant – doesn’t have to be $$$ – You can even trade the stars for some Xmas style lights on their patio) – & cap it off with something warm (Thermos with warm Brandy, Kahlua and coffee or Hot Chocolate ) at the lake or looking over the city… The entire theme is stars!
OR
If you like football/basletball/baseball … Start at a Dave & Busters (or anything similar) with a sports theme going on. Order food for him that would have a sports night theme (Buffalo Wings, Quesadilla’s, Nacho’s) – Followed by a Football or Basketball game – Or you could do it with a Race car theme.
See my thoughts behind this is that when we were little, our families always through us themed birthday parties. Now that we are older, nobody does them anymore! We are really just big kids and would think that it was so sweet that you thought that much about us!
OR
Put out! Sorry, sometimes us guys will trade any good plans for a …..!
Well, I hope you and him have fun, whatever you do!

Recipe for creamy cilantro sauce?
Hey Tired,
I have a cheaters way of doing it that you might like!
Buy a prepared COBB dressing – Add Chopped cilantro and lime juice to your taste. If you don’t find a Cobb dressing in your store – here is an easy recipe:
1/4 cup water
1/4 cup red wine vinegar
1/4 tsp sugar
1 1/2 tsp fresh lemon juice
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp fresh ground pepper
1/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1/4 cup finely chopped green onion
3/4 tsp dry mustard
1/2 clove garlic, minced
1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
3/4 cup vegetable oil
DIRECTIONS: Combine ingredients except the oil & blend well. Add the oils & whisk thoroughly to blend (or use a jar with lid & shake well). Chill at least 30 minutes. When ready to use bring to room temperature & shake well.
Or if you like Ranch dressing – How about a Ranch Cilantro dressing.
Or my favorite:
Cup Mayonaise
tsp Garlic – Finely minced.
Wisk in 1/4 cup Oil.
Finely chopped Cilantro – To Taste and for color.
Fresh Lime Juice – To Taste
Cilantro and Lime go with nearly everything. Especially if it is milder – like Mayonaise or Cobb dressing. Dressings like Blue Cheese or Honey Mustard won’t be as subtle for the true tastes to shine through.
Good Eating,

What are some mixed drinks using Jagermeister and the recipe?
Hey Willie,
I happen to like the Red Headed Sl ut the best! But don’t foget the drink/shot that started it all!

1 Part – Pineapple Juice

Any one ever heard of this creature?
Hey Engale,
I have read with interest the answers you have received.
I’m gonna go with the most logical:
You have a Field Mouse or a Brown Rat!
They run so fast that they look just like a rolling ball. You can see their tails – usually about 4-6 inches. If it was scared, likely, then it’s tail would have been bushier than what you may see under normal situations.
That’s my best guess,

what is the easiest way or cheapest way to remove a scar on my leg due to burn?
Hey Pretty,
There is a cream available here in the US called:
Maderma
I have seen it available in most drug stores. It won’t get rid of the scar, but it will lessen the appearance.

what is the funniest superstition you’ve ever heard?
Hey Dawn,
I still think that this is the funniest.
I have a good friend that is from India. Whenever he hears something sacrilegious – he will start beating himself about the face and upper torso! Not enough to do damage, but enough to cause a headache!
We have checked with other Indian friends, they have told us that you only do that if “these are also your thoughts”.
So for fun, sometimes we will gang up on him and watch him beat the heck out of himself!
Sorry, It’s just always so funny!

What is the knocking noise in front when I hit a bump?
Hey Naughty,
My experience has taught me that it is your rack and pinion. It may be as simple as your front stabilizers.
A few easy checks:
1). Sit on your front bumper – Bounce it up and down. Get up. If your car bounces more than twice – It’s your shock absorbers. Also, listen for any noises or thumps
2). Push your car from side to side from the front fender. If it is your front stabilizers – you will hear the same clunk.
3). Check your tire wear. Are you getting scallops on the edges or do you have problems with your tread separating? These are signs that there MAY be a problem with your stabilizers (Or it could also be alignment.)
If neither gives you any result, it could be your rack and pinion. Sadly, there are so many parts involved in Dodges rack and pinion that it may be too costly.
MOSTLY – take a little bit of advise from ALL of us. None of us are master mechanics and None of us have seen your car. We’ve all heard the Clunks that you are describing, but all of us will agree that it could be MANY different things.
Chilton’s manual has a really good “What is that sound mean?” section. About $25.00
Good luck and Thank you for asking us!

What is the best avenue to go when selling your business?
Hey Softail,
To find out the value of your business – act like you are trying to buy one! It’s just like trying to buy a house — you check out what the other houses in the area are selling for and then you adjust your price accordingly. Most business brokers can assist you with this one. They will actually (like a Realtor) try to get you to sign up with them – but they’re in it for commission only.
Keep in mind:
What were your sales; This year, Last year, Average last 5 years?
What were your Net Profits; This year, Last year, Average last 5 years?
What equipment and assets do you own?
How much money would it cost you TODAY to open the same business?
What is your GOODWILL worth? (Goodwill are the customers that will stay with your business – Sometimes that can account for many times what the business is actually worth!).
Who to sell it to?
1). Your customers! They are the ones that will have a vested interest in keeping the quality up and the prices fair,
2). Your competition! They want you out of the business! They will also know what the fairest price for your business will be.
Good luck!

Who the hell does chavez think he is to tell everybody anything?
Hello Thomas,
I don’t know if you have asked the questions correctly.
The correct question is WHAT is Hugo Chavez and Why doesn’t anybody tell him to shut up?
Hugo Chavez is able to control nearly 25% of the worlds oil. Citgo is now owned by The Venezuelan National Oil Company.
More important, Why doesn’t anyone tell him to shut up (Even Bush) – Because they know that all he has to do is to have a little pow-wow with his friend, The President of IRAN and they can throw the world into another Oil Embargo as bad as the late 1970’s.
So Thomas, the “powers” that run this world know that in the event of an election in November, if you are waiting in lines to buy non-existent $5.50 per gallon gas, you may think differently about sending the same “powers” back to their cushy jobs in world capitols.
Just my thoughts,
James in San Diego
p.s. As much as I don’t like him, Venezuela has the highest per capita wages in South America. They also have MANDATORY education through our equivalent of High School and they have nationalized health care.
I paid an online service money by check to start my own type at home business.?
Hey Momma,
There may be a little help for you!
Go to your bank and talk with an officer there. Since they took money from you and didn’t deliver there is a chance that the bank can “debit” the money back from the account that was credited.
If the money was taken to an out of state account, you can try the U.S. Attorney from your city. It probably isn’t enough for them to get involved, but yours may be one of many and if it is, you will want to get on any list for reimbursement should the government be able to seize any funds from this crook.
Lastly, contact the Better Business Bureau. They will take a report and should anyone else try to find out about this firm, there will be a report on file with the BBB.
You never know what might happen, even if you only get a few dollars back, it’s more than nothing!

What is the result when zero is divided by zero?
Hey Mann,
You have only a few right answers. The correct answer will have the words “You can’t divide by zero” in them. The rules of Math state that you CAN’T. Not that it’s undefined or that it is infinite!
And then the actual answer, by default, is ZERO!

when a person is brain dead whats the diff.between brain dead and death due to any other reason .?
Hey Sparkman,
Brain Dead is when the doctors can not detect any electrical impulses in the brain (e.g. gunshot to the head, suffocation, inoperable brain tumor) – but through machines, they keep the body “alive”. (Done for transplants.)
Death, by any other means (e.g. drowning, car crash, terminal disease) the body may not be able to function even though the brain seems to function fine. The brain is trying to send signals to the organs, but the organs are damaged to the point that they can’t respond. This is why those rich bastards have their heads frozen in hopes that in the future mankind can either transplant the head or create a new body for the brain.
Hope this helps,
James in San Diego
P.S. I meant to add, that in the case of some severe strokes, the brain will be dead but the body works fine!

Well Derwood,
First, If the hen knows, if you know what I mean, save face! Tell her that you forgot your “Tiny”, “Little” boxing gloves in your glove box, next to your condoms.
Ask for her forgiveness, and tell her it won’t happen again!
If she doesn’t know remember next time to come prepared with Viagra and a “cockmanship” ring – Make sure it’s the right size!

ferret help?
Hey Misty,
Like the others have said, it might be cancer of the adrenal glands! If you are asked to operate – Please don’t – I lost one because of it, she never recovered. They will give you the same pills that she will have to take without surgery as with – so stick with the pills.
It may not be cancer of the adrenals. She is nearing the age where she is old in “fert” years. If the vet says nothing is wrong, please try these two things:
1). FerretVite. It’s a higher calorie, high vitamin supplement made especially for ferrets. Follow the instructions – since you have 3 – you might want to put some in a dish and serve her separately.
2). Pedialyte and water. I dilute mine to 50-50 or even 40-60. I have one of these for all the kits and an additional one that is just plain water. I have bought the generic brands and they seem to like the orange flavor best. That water bottle always is the first to get drained. This adds Electrolytes to your kits bodies and should stop any diarrhea that your girl is having.
Hope I helped,
James in San Diego
does anybody know anything about ferrets?
Hey Big T,
First off – disregard what “Jets Knicks” says… There has never been a child killed by a ferret!
She is doing the same thing that young pups and kittens do. She is honing her “WAR” skills. You are her sparing partner – she is just playing, but attempting to develop strategies as the “dominator” of you.
I have tried the Sour Apple spray with my kits – when they were young – they would lick the thing/body part that I sprayed and then look at me like “You are soo stuuupid! We don’t mind things that taste weird – hell, we smell like your feet!” I also tried the water bottle/squirt gun… All I got were wet ferts!
Cat Squeak toys or Soft Balls on elastic work really well! (Don’t buy anything where she can chew off a rubber or synthetic part – this will block her kidney). You can buy the tubes and the expensive toys that are suggested, but I have found that mine are just as interested in the package that the toy came in as they are in the toy. Get some tubes from federal express (free) or some different sized boxes. Plastic grocery bags are good! Toys on strings are good too. Mine also like cheap blankets and towels that they can burrow through.
Mostly, as was suggested, Get her a friend! She really wants someone to do her mock battles with! They will fight much more furiously than other animals do — the only time you should break it up is when you hear a loud pitched squeal! You will get to notice the difference in their “hisses”, “chatter”, “challenges” and “squeals”.

I’m looking for a reasonably priced computer?
Hey Ever,
Since you are looking for a computer that is a laptop – I am going to suggest something radical:
Dell – They are like $499 Or the other day at Walmart I saw a Compaq that was about $599.
Computers are changing every month. Whatever you get now that is refurbished, you are going to hate it by next year! Save the $300-$400 they are going to charge you to give you a refurb and spend it on a new one (Plus, you’ll not only get licensed software, you’ll also get the warranty and tech support – That won’t come with a refurb)

I read an ad on craigslist that said $5000 for the donation of a woman’s eggs. Has anyone ever heard if this?
Hey Corey,
I agree with the others but I need to point out that the $$$ is for harvested eggs. In order to have your eggs harvested you must pass a very rigorous psychological, physical and background check. They will also need such things as family medical history for a great length of time and may even need you to take an IQ test.
You are selling a product, nothing more. And they want to make sure that they are getting the most for their money.

Why are they plowing over the spinach crops ?
Hey Vee,
Since the e-coli is a bacteria, by taking away the sun and the element of “time” in the sun – you diminish its power!
Burning would produce an ash that may not be beneficial to the field for the nest crop. PLUS, it’s wildfire time here in California!

It is considered “stealing” to trespass in order to retreive your own property?
Hey Stein,
I agree that Yes, It’s yours, so take it back. It would not be considered “Trespassing” in most states if you are simply taking it from his bag. BUT, you say that he is returning this week, obviously , Sam has not been at work, period. If you have the opportunity, I would confront him, tell him to return it and if he looks strangely at you, then call the police. Make sure you have your receipt.
Good Luck,
James
With the spinach scare, are you now rinsing all pre-cut and packaged produce?
Hey Chomper – AND FRIENDS!
Please note that washing the spinach WILL NOT remove the e-coli bacteria from your spinach! It is INSIDE the spinach!
There was a comment that one young lady said she will only buy “USDA approved ORGANIC spinach”
The spinach pulled, WAS USDA approved organic spinach.
The only spinach that you should eat now should be:
1). Frozen, boxed spinach.
2). Spinach that is grown in your own back yard.
3). Spinach that was NOT grown in the SALINAS VALLEY area of California.
USDA only certifies that the ground, seed, planting methods and pesticides used are in their guidelines. They don’t monitor the individual fields unless something like e-coli happens.

Why would a parent tell their children that Santa Claus is not real–no matter how old they are?
Hey Lindsey,
Safety! I know that as a parent, I would hate for my kid to come to me and say (at 25) “Hey, Dad… This Christmas I am going to ask Santa for a fleet of new cars, 1 for everyone of my friends!”
It was easier after they got older to realize that “Santa” has limits too (especially with college bills!).
Plus, As an added benefit — I finally had help wrapping gifts the few days before Christmas and didn’t need to hide them as well.

Questions to Employers?
Hey H.K. Man,
As we near our November elections, Politics will always play a part in any “Social situation”, and Yes, work is a social situation. There will always be the person that is the center of attention. If we are lucky, in the workplace, that person will be the boss. That, however, is not always the case.
Ideally, we would like to think, it’s not whether you win or lose, it’s how you play the game — BUT, in today’s world, plays are rarely noticed — WINS always are! (The company your work for, unless it is some social service agency, pays their bills by winning, not by placing in the top 5).
Sometimes, there are situations where you have two equally “qualified” employees; Let’s say Joe and Diane. Joe spends his off time schmoozing with the boss, Diane spends her off time researching the competition. Diane is obviously the harder worker, right? Not always –! Joe may be making contacts with others in the industry or at least appear to, when he is spending time with the boss. In today’s world, appearances ARE EVERYTHING! If they weren’t, we wouldn’t need the latest cell phone, the sportiest/classiest car or even the membership to ???
I am usually Diane! Sadly, I know that the other Diane’s out there, when we make a success, we don’t feel it is as well noticed. So we have a tendency to try to toot our own horn — we also look desperate when we do this.
Firing is a very tenuous proposition. It is an aggressive move, and a move even if followed by the letter of the law, is still subject to litigation (I fired a Bartender for selling an alcoholic drink TO-GO, I and my employer were sued from here to eternity, with allegations of everything from sexism to sexual harassment to racism — The lawsuit took 2 years and in the end, it was cheaper to settle than to pay to take it to a judge or jury trial) So investment isn’t always the reason that an employer won’t terminate someone. It may be easier to get the “Squeaky Wheel” to quit and hope that the “Family” in the office will get over any turmoil.
My advise, in most cases, if you are in a situation where a “Joe” is getting all the perks and you are a Diane, is to either become a “Joe” or look for an employer who fosters a more even playing field in the workplace.
Hope I added something of value to the other comments!

Is PODS Moving Company worth the money?
Hey Dude,
Several years ago, I used a pre-curser to today’s PODS (Box-It or Hold-it, something like that), I LOVED IT! There is no renting a truck! You load it at your convenience, (No additional rental time), They bring it where you want when you are ready.
I had nothing broken and there was no evidence that it was not properly stored. If you have to move out of state, they’ll bring it for an additional charge, no recruiting a friend to go with you to a storage facility to help unload. Everything about it was +++++!
I used this for 6 or 7 months.
Only weakness, if you are the type that likes to go to your storage unit to get things out, this is not an option. They will make the pod available to you, but you must make arrangements and there is some sort of charge. Also, unlike the storage place, if you don’t have a lock, they don’t have a loaner for you — It’s in your driveway.
Hope I was able to help!

Looking for pros & cons of switching from regular phone service to digital.?
Hey Dos,
PRO:
-Cheaper (especially if you already have digital)
-Add addiitional lines for just a few $ – compared to $$$ from tel co.
-Free things: Usually; caller id, call waiting, speed call, digital answer, call forward, and in home extensions (1 ring for u, 2 rings for bro, 3 rings for ma)
-Clearer sound ( allegedly )
CON:
-Only 1 bill every month – bill with everything may seem expensive.
-Same connection as computer
-Number MAY not be as portable.
-You can’t pretend you’re doing that Cox commercial where you keep picking up the phone like an idiot to listen to dial tone.
-You can’t do your Lilly Tomlin impression “We don’t care, We don’t have too” and have it be authentic!
Seriously,
I haven’t found any difference other than my first bill I was like WOW, because I forgot that I had everything on one bill and I had to pay for the changeover (it was $55).
Good Luck, Hope this information helps,

If that definition only involves eating “Of The Calzone” Only …. Then, Nope!

Do you think tipping has gotten out of hand? How much do you guys tip at restaurants?
Hey Rub,
Well you certainly have hit a nerve, haven’t you? I must preface this by saying that I have waited tables and bartended for many years, so anything I say will probably be “tilted”.
1). Most servers are taxed on their Sales, meaning that it doesn’t matter what you tip them, the government says they will be making $$$ in tips on $$$$ in sales – So that’s what they are taxing them for, PERIOD.
2). Benefits: What? In many other industries, Workers will get raises, insurance, holiday and vacation pay. Not your server!
3). Breaks: What? Most servers know that during their shift, if they want to make money, they will stay on the floor. This is fine on a Monday, when they start work at 4:00pm and they are home by 9:00p.m. BUT — let’s try on a Friday night, when it is now 11:00pm and they have not stopped working once! If your boss told you that on a daily basis, screw your breaks — the company’s busy — you’d tell him to shove his job, you’re taking Lunch!
4). Tipping Amount: When I used to wait tables, it didn’t matter to me because it would all average out in the end. But, If a couple is spending $100, my guess is they will spend about 2 hours eating. $15.00 is too much to spend in tip? You’ve just tied up a table for 2 hours….
The TIP CUPS — Toss them with the help! Just once, try tipping at McDonald’s! They will POLITELY inform you that they are not allowed to accept Tips.
Servers also tip out EVERYBODY! Bartender, Busser, Hostess and sometimes, even the kitchen staff.
5). KARMA: What happens one day if someone in your family has to wait tables, would you want this karma hanging over your head.
6). Do you go to a favorite bar? If you go, is it fair to say that you will drop $15.00 for booze? 15% will be $2.25 – Does that seem like too much money? I mean after all, they are just pouring beer.
Lastly, If you feel that tipping has just gotten out of hand — the next time you go into a restaurant, let the Owner know and ask if he/she will wait on you, I am dying to hear their response. I got mad at a friend of mine years ago because she ordered food to be delivered and the owner personally brought it over. I said to the owner later that I felt that my friend should not have tipped. The owner went ballistic! “Don’t I give Good Service?”
When Tipping first started, it was in the 15th Century. You gave the Tip BEFORE your service. It was to insure prompt service!
Would it be fair to go back to that?
My answers aren’t any better than anyone else, I’ve just been there and done that. I’ve seen a server work a full 2 week pay period and receive a $26.00 check because everything else was taken out in taxes.
I do know this though — They are happy you appreciate them, but if its a problem, they won’t mind it if you stopped coming in.

Is applebees a good place to eat? What is a good choice on the menu?
Hey Kim,
I am not a fan of Applebee’s! I do not like their entrees. No taste and no excitement.
BUT —
I am with Nikki! I have been there a few times and the times that I have ordered their Appetizer Sampler plate, I have really enjoyed it! Their Little ribs are good, The Potato Skins and the Quesadilla are average and the Wings were pretty good. And I think the Sampler was about $12.00, but more than enough for 2 to share.
So If you’re stuck going there, trust that you can split the platter and at least you and the friend that you split it with will have a better time than the others.

Does anyone know what happened to Olinda’s Mexican Restaurant that was located in Old Town?
Hey Khlorite,
Not to my knowledge. When I was managing a restaurant down there they were having lots of problems with attracting customers. They also knew that they were paying too much for their lease. I know that He (the Husband) was going to go back to warehouse work, that was about 8 months ago, I haven’t seen them since.
Sorry I don’t have better news, but maybe someone else will post.

why we are unable to control cost of petroleum prducts?
Her Sarkar,
The same reason that drugs, pornography, fast cars and supermodels are so expensive:
Because they are addictive!
When we do without, the price will go down until we are re-hooked!

how many poeple in USA eat french fries with Mayonaise?
Hey Puja,
I was raised in the Midwest with East Coast parents who put Thousand Island dressing on everything (OK, not everything!) So I got used to the taste. 1000 isn’t available everyplace, but alot of places do have Mayo as well as Ketchup, so it’s my poor mans 1000 island.
On the Beer thing: NOPE! In Europe they fully understand the consequences of a DUI — while we in the USA still lead the world in per-capita arrests for DUI. We already have many places where we can get booze! Also remember, McD’s appeals to more adults in Europe than here in the USA — So here it’s still very much a Kids eating place. I think that them not being around booze for a majority of their meals is a good thing!

do the olive garden have good food ? what about denny’s?
Hey First,
If your idea of good food is the stuff that you won’t even feed your dog, then…
They’ve got GREAT food!
And so does ARCO Am/Pm Mini marts and 7/11!
NEVER, EVER say the words Good Food and the words Olive Garden or Denny’s in the same sentence! It’s like saying “Betelgeuse” 3 times – you’ll never have a good meal again!

Why does Waffle House have locks on the doors??… Is open 24 hrs EVERYDAY!!?
Hey Chop,
It’s so when you and I are there after going out drinking, we will have something to do while waiting 20 minutes for a table….
u: “Dude, If they are open 24 hours, why do they have locks?”
me: “Cause a screwdriver would take too long….”
or : “Cause they are out of tape…”
or : “That’s not a lock! It’s a blow-up doll for small homeless guys!”
Hugs and Smoochies!

What do you the greatest engineering feet has been?
Hey Eric,
I am going to have to go with the Golden State Bridge! My second choice would be the Panama Canal.
In either case, given the equipment available at the time, the fact that they are still in use and the level of knowledge at the time, I think they have stood the test of time.

How would you go about boiling a two-minute egg if you only had two sand timers?
Hey Wolfie!
Come on! Make it more difficult!
Start the timers at the same time. When the first 3 minute timer is out of sand, start your eggs.
I know you can come up with more of a challenge!

Any armchair theories on why the island on “Lost” is so?
Hey North,
I believe that it is a parallel of our own lives.
The “Others” – We don’t trust people that aren’t like us! When we have an issue like immigration or Gays wanting to get married or prayer in the schools – WE GET VERY HOSTILE!
The “Island” – There is no person to save them. No government, No mom, No family – It’s up to them and their own wits. What would happen if you were one of those people in hurricane Katrina or in the Tsunami in Indonesia at Christmas? Who would be there for you?
The “Plot” – What will happen to all of them? What would happen to all of us? We have turmoil in the Middle East, Problems with Iran, Oil producing countries that have a strangle-hold on all of us…. What will they do?
Just my thoughts,

Why don’t we teach morals in school?
Hey Space,
While I would welcome this as being a required curriculum, I only have a few problems.
1). For some reason, our schools are having a difficult time teaching; Math, Reading, English, History and Equality.
2). I come from San Diego — You know, Enron by the Sea — Our politicians have a difficult time sitting at work without figuring out how to spend our money AND line their pockets, AT THE SAME TIME!
3). We have Scandal after scandal in Washington D.C. involving our elected officials and bribes, kickbacks, favors — You name it!
4). We have the richest people, in the richest country and most are trying to figure out how to get even richer.
5). Who sets the standard? Is it the Coach that will win at any cost – even if that cost is by benching a marginal player or will it be the School Board member that refuses to have a class properly instructed because his OWN religious beliefs run contrary to the accepted sciences. We could have the Gay teacher who is afraid to come out for fear that he will be unfairly scrutinized or maybe the teacher who is on his third marriage who doesn’t fully understand the concept of “Til Death Us Do Part”.
You and I and everyone else that is reading these answers all have high morals. The problem is, ON WHAT CAN WE AGREE? Sadly, this isn’t the old argument that “I know what pornography is when I see it” days. They are still banning books in certain school districts, yet attempting to pass laws that dictate that a state system can only teach about Gay’s in a positive light….? (What if Hitler was Gay? Wasn’t Jefferey Dahmer Gay? I am Gay and I don’t subscribe to that kind of legislative interference!
After all of this rambling, I can only propose one thing:
Please, parents, family and those that care. Teach our children well! Show them guidance and mostly teach them how to see the difference between right and wrong!
I think if our kids are raised right (whatever that means) they will be able to make just and honorable decisions in life!
And that is my 10 minutes on the soapbox!

What is the best widely recognized chain restaurant and why?
Hey Nido,
My vote is going to the Palm Restaurant. It’s been around since the turn of the century, has weathered depression, war, recession and the odd craze of diets that have banished most restaurants from our special event lexicon.
The food is Beef, beef and more beef. Their prices are high. I think the 1 diet thing on the menu is chicken breast or fish. It is old world dining (The place where our rich Uncle would take us to when he came to town).
BUT
They have managers and employees that have been with them for 25-30 years. Presidents and Members of Congress eat there. We finally got one in San Diego this past year. They don’t issue coupons, they don’t need to! They don’t have an early bird or senior dining menu, they don’t need one! Children’s menu? Why? You’re supposed to get a babysitter. They don’t have valet parking, it’s not part of the dining event! Yet they have nearly 30 restaurants in the United States, alone!
It’s not snooty, it’s just real good adult dining! I know that if I go there to have a relaxing meal with friends or my wife, I will have just that — A Relaxing Meal!
That’s my vote!

What was the best service you had at a restaurant and what made the service so good?
Hey Abby,
I am taken by the fact that so many had their best service only a few days/weeks ago….
On a date, many years ago, I was with my g/f at a place called the “Greenhouse” outside of Chicago. Everything that night was perfect.
The server was so great that, we in fact, never really saw him. Other than our initial ordering, we only had a symphony of unseen hands that would add and remove plates, refill waters etc. Whatever we needed, magically appeared. It was as if her and I were the only two that were dining that night.
I have had exceptional service from many places throughout the world but nothing has ever equaled this. I only wish when I proposed, I had the exact same experience.
So I guess the key word for the “WHAT” would be — We felt uninterrupted, unrushed and definately appreciated!
Thanks for a great question.

If our next UK Prime Minister is a homosexual, will he be the first?
Well Ron,
Not necessarily — Edward Heath was “Allegedly” gay.
OK, not really, he just always hung out with “Educated, Male Friends”
