whats a good way to find a alcohol rehab in baltimore maryland? or anywhere?
Hey j.b.,
Forget the AA thing! They are not allowed to promote any treatment over another. They don’t endorse any commercial ventures. Your best bet is to look in your yellow pages for:
Health care – Substance Abuse
Health care – Treatment Centers
County of _________________( Your local county ) Health Services Department. Call and ask for a referral.
or:
Ask your Doctor or HMO if they have a referral program for rehab in the areas.
or:
If the person qualifies as a minority (e.g. Native American, Black, Gay or Lesbian, Veteran or former Military service) look under community organizations for that minority. They will usually have a referral service for the recovering addict.
Mostly:
If this is a spouse, partner or dependent of yours; you should get help as well. Try Al-Anon, Al-Ateen, or any other co-dependency programs that are offered to you through your local AA or NA offices. The co-dependency programs for you will always be free and will help you cope with the anger/frustration that you have been experiencing.

where or how can i buy millers lite in australia??
Hey Kobey,
If you must, go to any of the bars with continental sounding names in Sydney or Perth and you will find Miller Lite. Also look at the clubs around the military bases, they will definately have Miller Genuine Draft or Miller Lite.
But my biggest question, after years of sampling american beers is why would you drink Miller Lite! It taste like metal?
I was in Sydney about 6 years ago and in addition to European and other imports, they had Coors, Bud and Miller products!
Enjoy!

Why is beer only green for one day of the year?
Hey Robert,
I managed bars for many years here in San Diego. Every year, around St. Patricks day, I would purchase a couple of packs of food color (you can only get single colors in large quantities) in order to get a couple of droppers of food green. We would add a few drops to pitchers of beer on St. Patricks day. Well, a few years back, Miller came out with pre-dyed, specially marked bottles of Miller Lite for our sale on St. Pats. We ordered the week or two before and the night before, filled our coolers with the special bottles of green beer. For some reason, maybe Miller Lite wasn’t in the minds of our partiers, or maybe they just thought that a pitcher looked better if it was green, but in the brown bottle supplied by Miller, nobody could tell that the beer was green, we just couldn’t sell out of the pre-dyed green beer in the Miller Lite bottles. Since more than 7 days had passed from the time that we took delivery until the next time we saw our salesman, we were unable to send back our remaining bottles of Green Miller Lite! Only way to get rid of it… Sell at cost!
So Robert, In actuality, Green beer was not available just 1 day during the year! I think it took us a good week to get rid of that crap!

Does anyone have a copycat recipe for Papa John’s pizza dough?
Hey T.F.F.,
I wish I had the patience to follow all of Scrappykins detailed instructions, but pizza dough is quite simple, so I won’t!
Your question was that you liked the taste of Pappa John’s dough. I’ve managed many restaurants in my also many years on this planet. Your answer couldn’t be simpler;
Contact the store manager, let him know what area that you live in and he will agree that it is too far for delivery (as far as the freshness, hot pizza, etcetera, guarantee is.)
Ask to buy several pre-portioned dough balls from him, most places will sell you the dough for only a few bucks. Bring it home and freeze the dough balls. When you need them, pull whatever you like out the night before and thaw in your fridge. When you are ready, roll out the pizza dough on a floured peel, or a cutting board. If it’s difficult to roll out, let it warm up to room temperature. If you are making their deep dish, put a tablespoon or two of oil in the deep dish pizza pan add the rolled dough and cover with a damp towel and let rise for an hour. If it is their thin crust, roll out and either place in a pan or use a peel, top and place on a pizza stone in your oven (pre-heated to 450-500*f) It should be ready in about 10-12 minutes.
Hope this is easier than from scratch!

why is it bad to mix alcohol and marihuana?
Hey Nic AH sio,
The first answer is the most obvious. Since both are central nervous system depressants, and both will affect you in nearly the same way, like a couple others have said, you had the effect of being REALLY DRUNK! (You probably lied down and noticed the room was spinning, the first time that has happened in a long time, huh?).
The second part of my answer has to do with your question of why is it BAD TO MIX alcohol & marijuana. The reason it is bad to do is that since both are not only nervous system depressants, they are also physical depressants. You will find that afterwards you will have a very difficult time coming back to life, or simply a really bad hangover. You should find that you may have to increase the amounts of each on further episodes, just to get the high feeling. It’s not the best way to spend an evening, especially if you are getting blackouts (When you don’t remember anything that happened).
However, before everyone thinks I am a prude, I believe that anything should be taken in moderation. Alcohol is a solvent (a refined version of the liquid Goo that you use to take off the sticky from a lable on your sunglasses ((try it sometime on a new pair)).
The only negative I’ve heard from MJ is that you tend to hold it in, and that, in theory, should lead to an increased chance of exposure to lung cancer. I have never heard of someone dying from lung cancer because they smoked alot of pot.
Like others, I enjoyed both while I was younger, but decided I didn’t like weed as much, so I dropped it.
Everything in moderation!
Don’t smoke/drink & drive!

What is a typical hourly wage paid to bartenders, excluding tips?
Hey Kmstich,
In California, it is minimum wage plus tips at public houses and a little more if you work at the hotels. Hotels will pay more, especially if you are working during the day since you have few customers and your day is mostly spent stocking and prepping for the night shifts. I have worked in San Diego, CA for the last 18 years, our population is 1.24 million city and 2.5 million county.
Also, larger clubs will be the same hourly but the tips that you get are substantially more. My friends that work in the larger clubs never get a weekend off and must tip out everyone at the end of the night. The last large club that I worked at I would gross $250 per club night, but then my barbacks got 30%, the doormen/security would split up 10% and the club host got a fixed $ amount (the last time it was 25.00 per shift to cover the advertising costs). This also varies from club to club. I have worked larger clubs that the waitress always was served before the guests. That would usually piss off the guests since they had been waiting since before she came up.
Also keep in mind the local costs with moving to certain cities to bartend. I have friends that work in smaller clubs in area’s of the south like Mississippi, Austin and Georgia. With the exception of Austin, they all pay much less than I do for rent and gas (currently in California coastal areas, the average rent for a 1 bedroom is about $1000/month and gas is running $3.45/gallon/regular unleaded. My friend in Georgia is only paid $2.15/hour; his gas is 2.85/gallon/regular and his rent is only $400/month. He tips out nobody and he made more than I did on a monthly basis.
Lastly, when you bartend, most bars will be open 365/days per year. There are no paid holidays, no vacation, no benefits. I had the hardest time when I purchased my last car. Since I was paying for everything with cash (No need for credit cards) I had to pay 31% for my car loan. They couldn’t imagine that anyone in their late 20’s could exist without credit cards. The worst part is the beauty game. I was lucky that I had the look that the club was looking for, but as the years past, I noticed that I was less and less sought out to bartend for the hipper clubs. Age and looks play a huge part in bartending.
I was watching the International Bartenders Competition a few years ago, from New York city. They had bartenders from all over the world. The grading went like this:
=========
Speed: ————> 10%
Acuracy: ———-> 10%
Flair: —————> 80%
=========
I was blown away! Flair is the ability to juggle bottles, throw glass and mixers into the air while doing accrobatic stunts and basically entertaining the crowd. The 3 winners, all from Europe, spent 6 hours a day practicing tossing bottles and glasware into the air and catching it. Not one had spent more than a couple of years Bartending. So basically if you have a background in juggling, you can become a world renowned bartender (unless you are female….. In the 7 years they have done this, only 1 female finalist!)!
I had no social life, few friends that were not bartenders and since I always had cash, everyone was always asking If they could borrow a little until payday (I never have been repaid). All in all, I enjoyed my life bartending, but I wouldn’t do it again!
Good Luck,
James in San Diego

I have a bottle of wine how do i find how old it is??
Dear Bilinda,
You do have a collectors item, sort of.
What you have is a Bar (Bodegas) commemorative display of a product from Casa Francisco (Now it is known as Bodegas Francisco Casas, located in Navalcarnero, Madrid) Casa Francisco and the other “Bodegas” suppliers would supply the Tapas and Bodegas with table wines to be sipped, while standing , at the many wine bars and Tapas stands that dot the cities. What you have is a commemorative display, probably to celebrate the anniversary of their new vineyards/estate that was built around 1965 – If it was the 25 year (which sounds right because the used copper (looks like gold) or it could have been to celebrate the anniversary of King Juan Carlos.
What you have is no different than a neon sign, without the neon. The proprietor would set the case up at the back of the bar, you would ask him what it was and he would tell you that it was an anniversary edition. You would then drink a toast to whatever anniversary that was celebrated. I think that it might not be for King Juan Carlos, because then it would probably have an image somewhere of the King and Queen.
The reason it is collectible, is the proprietor would usually get the display for free, so when it was done, they would throw away the bottle, and maybe keep the leather case to hold receipts or tips.
The wine, as the label says, is a fine table wine. Further, the label says that it is 1/2 gallon. Keep in mind that it is not in liters. So it is just that, Gallo! The collector part is the actual case. Chances are that there were somewhere in the neighborhood of a couple of thousand made, some were sold at the winery, the rest were probably used to promote the wine around the world, (Notice the use of 1/2 gallon and the fact that the parts of the label you can read, are in English).
The value would depend on exacting what the anniversary was that the display was made for. It was probably the 25th and was made about 1989-90. And the total that were made and distributed here in the U.S./Canada. If you have an old Spanish or even an old Italian restaurant in your neighborhood, they might be able to assist you further.
Based on what I’ve seen in the marketplace, your bottle would go at auction for $25 – $100. Since there is a renewed interest in Spanish wines. I’ve listed the website for Bodegas Francisco Casas. You might be able to send them a picture for a better explanation of how many were made (they may not even know, since the winery merged in the 60’s) or if they have any further information.
Good Luck!

Where are the midget houses in La Jolla, Califorinia. Please tell me. I will pick the first answer as the best
Hey giancv53,
Thank God for our radical geezer. I was so hoping to answer this question when I first started reading. If you go, it’s one of those things that DDW! Distance Does Wonders, when you get up to the actual buildings, it’s kinda like seeing Jesus face at Knotts Berry farms’ chapel. You kinda feel foolish that you spent all that time looking at it!
Thank you Radicall! Your answer is good by me (fellow San Diegan!)

BallPark Franks or Oscar Meyor Franks and why?
Hey Emily,
Of the two, I prefer Ball Park. They are larger and seem to grill-up a little nicer. However, if I am going to grill up a dog, my first choice is Hebrew National, better products inside. #2 on the dog side would be Ball Park.
If you ever want to talk Bratwurst… That’s a great story!

Is it weird that I don’t like to drink alcohol/wine etc.?
Hey Mountainiron 06,
Yes, you are a freak…. No, many people don’t like liquor. If you were Asian, chances are you are allergic. If when you wipe rubbing alcohol on your skin, if it gets very red, then you are allergic. If when you drink, if it burns going down and tastes like glass, you’re allergic. If you are smaller in stature, or you have a very high metabolism (you’re built like a cross country runner), your body probably rejects it because your body knows that you’ll get drunk off of just one.
When your friends tell you they think that you are uptight, ask them who they would like to be driving them home when they’re drunk?
Lastly, your own personal joke… When your friends are sitting around the bar on a Friday or Saturday night, crying in their drinks about how they never have any money, and are still paying rent, you’ll be sitting at home, in your own house, watching your big screen TV, laughing all the way to the bank!!!
Please don’t worry………..

how do you make a red death?
Hey JW,
To let you know how the differences in other parts of the country vs. here in San Diego. For years we’ve all made the Red Death shot. It’s printed in books that are available here in California, Word for word, here’s the recipe:
RED DEATH – Build in Order – Shot Glass;
1/2oz Vodka
1/4oz Triple Sec.
1/4oz Fresh squeezed Lime Juice
Dash of Tabasco.
Now I’ve seen several other drinks listed here that sound like:
RED DEVIL: Build – In Order – Collins/Chimney glass
1 oz Sloe Gin
1/2oz Southern Comfort
1/2oz Vodka
1/2oz Triple Sec.
1/2oz Fresh Squeezed Lime Juice
Fill glass with Orange Juice,
Dash Grenadine (optional – But I think it looks cool!).
Hope I was able to help,
Good Drinking!

what are the top drinks in a club, bar or strip club?
Morning Fly,
I’m sticking with Jessandduane. These are the generalized drinks that you’ll be asked for, mostly well. Some shots, beer. If the club is frequented by women on others tabs, be prepared to have the blender going most of the night (and your recipe book out for at least that long). Guys usually know what they are ordering as soon as they walk up to you, it usually won’t change throughout the night. Ladies on the other hand, usually, will wait til they get up to your well when you are at your busiest and then say “I don’t know, Something different…” At that point they’re getting a sex on the beach or a Washington apple.
Now to comment on several things that I have seen from other answeree’s:
BOMBHAUS
=============
Bombhaus: let me know where you bartend. I want to stay far away.
1) Rum and coke is just that! A 151 and coke is just that! The two have never been confused other than by someone who has had too many 151 and coke, and then you should cut them off!
2). Vodka & Cranberry is just that! Vodka & Cranberry. If you add a lime garnish, then it becomes a Cape Cod (codder).
3). A Bay Breeze is Vodka, Pineapple juice & Cranberry juice.
4). A Sea Breeze is Vodka, Grapefuit juice and Cranberry Juice.
5). A screwdriver has never had grenadine in it, and it never will. The drink you are talking about is a Vodka Sunrise.
It’s wanna be bartenders like you that give professionals a crappy name! Because you can stand behind a bar and fold bar towels and look up the latest fru-fru drink from the club that your favorite ho went to last night, is the reason you are bartending in a place that mostly serves bottled beer!
POOPKACES:
===========
A quick note to Poopkaces; Most states have laws against lighted drinks on bar tops. My favorite shot is French Toast which is Yukon Jack, Float Warmed Brandy, light and sprinkle with cinnamon, smells like french toast, looks like fireworks. Sadly, here in California it’s highly illegal.
Good Drinking Fly!

What are the steps in wine presentation to a customer?
Hey Minniemouse,
I am impressed with several of your attendees! My hat is off to RobW, EtOHRx and mostly, to Werts! I have worked in several 4+ star restaurants and each of their answers are about as right as you are going to get from a non-sommelier.
I hope you are able to pick one of them for the best answer!

Why do people wrap a napkin around the necks of Champaigne/beer bottles?
Dear emynlasgalen,
Well your readers were mostly right. The original reason for the napkin is for when you open the Champagne. You will use the napkin to ease the cork out of the top of the bottle (you never want to get that big “POP” sound when you uncork the champagne), then you would use the napkin to clean off the top and the inside of the top of the bottle. A true Champagne or Methode Champagnoise will be made by riddling the top of the bottle, so there will be some residuals at the base of the cork. You won’t want that floating in your glass of Champagne.
But what no one has mentioned, is the fact that you would fold the napkin, in a kerchief shape and then fold it around the bottle, is that unless you have served the entire bottle, you will put the bottle in an Ice Bucket. The napkin is to prevent water and bits of ice from running into the Champagne flute.
People who wrap a paper napkin around their beer bottles are just O.C.D. or Anal Retentive.
Happy Wrapping!
James
If you want to go vegetarian, what’s the point of being vegan?
Good Evening Larissa,
It took me years to understand the difference between Vegetarian and Vegan! So Here Goes:
VEGETARIAN: Eats no red meat; may eat fish; will eat eggs; might eat turkey; will eat tofu that has been seasoned with Worcestershire sauce (contains anchovies); will eat regular cheese; will by clothes that may contain parts of animal skin; will eat cake; will eat pasta; will eat commercially available fruits and vegetables
VEGAN: Eats No meat, No Fish, No eggs or animal by-products; will eat organic (?) tofu, that has been naturally flavored with things like sesame oils; eats only RENETLESS cheeses (Tastes like cardboard !); pasta that is egg free; only breads that are made with no eggs or preservatives (look on the outside of the package, it will say Ingredients: Unbleached flour, water, baking powder, salt and sometimes whole grains); Will not wear any clothing that will contain any animal by product, or even imitation things like fake fur, or imitation leather; will only eat fruit and produce that is organically raised, with no pesticides used.
While this is not a complete list, it is a good guideline.
What I found out from talking to both VEGANS and VEGETARIANS is that they have found that a family of 4 can be self sustaining on 1 acre of land per year for growing vegetables and fruits. It will take 1 acre in water feet, per year to water those crops (we use about 4 acre feet of water in a family of 4 just for showering and washing our clothes per year.
Raising a cow/steer, will take 6 acres of grain to feed that animal per year, with approximately 3 acre feet of water per year to grow the feed. That entire animal will feed a family of 4 for a little more than 2 months, ergo, 6 steer/cow per year.
You can see why the Veggie group doesn’t like the red meat equation.
I hope that this helps!
Good Feeding!
James
Ooops, I just remembered, The nicest thing in common between Vegans & Vegetarians; they both can enjoy beer! All natural, No byproducts, no preservatives — What a Great thing to have in common!

does anyone know how to make lettuce sweeter?
Hey Deb,
I will agree with the raspberry vinaigrette, but when I would pick my leaf lettuce to late, what I used to do was dissolve sugar into warm water, pour over ice and then place your lettuce leaves with freshly cut bottoms into the sweet water for about 1-2 hours before. Mix with a honey mustard dressing (Yes, it is as easy as equal parts of honey and mustard!), or you can also add it to arugula, that is already bitter/peppery, and it will mix well.
If it is not a leaf lettuce, but a head lettuce, try grilling it. That will bring out the sweetness. (Remember, leave the core in while grilling, it will keep the individual leaves from sticking on the grill.
You can also make the bitter lettuce into a fruit garden salad. Try getting a can of mandarin oranges, or grill-up some halved peaches (not pits, please) Then you can play the sweet and sour flavors against each other.
Even better yet, if you decide to grill up a steak sandwich and you are adding a horseradish mayonaise, those bitter greens will taste so good with the sweetness of the steak and the heat from the horseradish!

How is Jake’s on 4th Avenue Olympia WA as far as a gay fun spot?
Good Evening David D.
First off, you sound like a fun Gay spot!
Jake’s is the only place I can remember, and I remember that Olympias pride parade went either right in front or right down the street. I remember that the clientele was a little heavy on the drag element, but my best suggestion would be that you know that it’s an OK place, and they can direct you to other places in the area. I know that when I was there (about 4 years ago) there seemed to be a few clubs within a couple of blocks, and since there were alot of schools around, that I encountered alot of family (OK, I don’t know if they were family, but they sure were fun in bed… 😀
Good Hunting! And if you ever get down to San Diego — I’d like to see your fun Gay Spot… I mean I’d like to show you some fun Gay spot’s….
This is only going downhill!

Where can you buy sulfite-free wine?
Good Evening,
It’s not going to be easy, but Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods Market are the two places that I know sell SOME sulfite free wines. Also, look into some of the new Frost Wines. I was told that since they stay on the vine longer, that they don’t use the same amount of sulfites to process the wine…
Good Luck!

aaany great dining in southern cali?
Hey Caleb P.,
Could you be more specific about what kind of food and what your price range is. It also would be helpful if you gave us an area of Southern California that you would like to eat at.
Thanks,

p.s. I’m kinda confused regarding the previous person’s answers. Some great places are listed and then for some reason: Cheesecake Factory! Olive Garden does a better job then the Cheesecake Factory (And that is not saying much… 🙁 )
Does anyone know why it is illegal to sell Sol beer in Missouri?
Hey Goose,
Like one of your compadres answered, it’s a simple distribution problem. If your favorite supermarket / liquor store carries Corona, Dos XX and Modelo, then they have a distribution agreement with a beer distributor that does not carry Sol. Here in San Diego, Sol is only carried by one distributor, the other brands that they carry are all smaller micro-brews. If I order from the smaller distributor, I have to have a minimum order. If I can’t make the minimum, then I don’t order.
Your best bet is to find a bar that carries 60 beers, they will probably have it. Also, look into bigger Mexican Restaurants, call ahead first, there is a small chance that they may carry Sol.
That being said, I also haven’t seen it advertised here in San Diego, there is a small chance that most distributors have stopped carrying it.
Good Luck

bartender recipes?
Good Morning, Staci Nicole,
While I usually use a very good book for drinks that I rarely come across, (The book is called “Bartenders Companion” and has most of the dirty drinks that are not normally published in books, is from 1990 by John Rickman and allegedly copies can be obtained by calling 213-874-0448 ((Los Angeles area, the area code has changed multiple times, by now)).
When I am Bartending on busy nights, I have to rely on other bartenders for unusual drinks, but I will look them up after a nights work and the site that I use most is; the digital bartender. It’s loaded with pop-ups and ads, but it has nice links for other sites.
Good Mixing!

I’m opening up a new restaurant. I’m thinking about using…………..?
Hey Kooties,
In a simplistic way, I always thought (as a boy) it was a bad thing to get “Kooties”. As a Restaurant Manager, I really don’t like the name. There is a better way to use your name (or nickname) in a better way to define your food. How about:
Miss Kooties Chicken and Waffles. (There is a reason your sister warned you about me ! )
The “Miss Kooties” shows a certain Southern refinement, with a down home, no non-sense, stick to your ribs, type of food. The use of Chicken and Waffles, sets you up for a tone that most would expect wondrous Southern food that might include grits, greens and some of the fluffiest biscuits that I would’ve ever had!
Unless, you plan on specializing in Pot Pies, I wouldn’t make that a selling point. Most pot pies are chicken and turkey, and you’ll find that most customers will compare you to the Banquet frozen kind. They will decide that they can get the same thing for under $2.00 (It’s kind of like expensive restaurants serving Mac-n-Cheese, oh, sure they use 4 different cheeses, but it’s still Mac-n-Cheese! for $10.00 !!) If you go out on a limb and try things like andouille and kale, or beef stew pot pies, it might work to your advantage, because customers can’t get them anyplace else! Unless you are going to specialize in pot pies, I would only use them as a way to flesh out your menu.
Mostly, I would talk to everyone that I know that has opened a restaurant. Most will not want you to fail! And most importantly: LISTEN! We often don’t really listen to a complaint from a troublesome customer (just trying to get something for free!). But every so once in a while, you will hear someone say, This doesn’t taste like it used to. LISTEN!
It also a great idea to go to AOL city searches as well as go to google and type in Southern Food, or southern restaurants. Look at the reviews, you will get a free critique of what you SHOULDN’T do in a restaurant. You will read words like “Greasy”, “Slow Service”, “Barely warm”, etc. These are all items that the regular customer won’t tell you, but they’ll put it on the Web for everyone to see.
Mostly, Good Luck! and Good Eatin!
James
How Do You Fold An Egg?
Hey good evening!
Well, Grendles got it, mostly! As a longtime Restaurant Manager, the methodology that Grendle states is the only way that you can do this properly. The egg must be separate, and you whip each individually, and fold in with a spatula so that you don’t take the air out of any stage of your ingredients.
But what everyone is missing (and the reason why most of you have never heard of “folding in an egg” (yes, most of heard of folding in whipped egg whites, but not usually a whole egg) is that the show itself was meant to be CAMP regarding Lisa’s COOKING ABILITIES, or at least, LACK THERE OF! The joke would be; if you had whipped a batter, and then folded in a whole egg, it would remain at the bottom of the cake, plain for everyone to see, hence, the GAG!
I hope that nobody is trying to do this for real, you’ll have a cake that is VERY DENSE at the bottom, or wherever the egg rests.
Good Eating!

What’s the best recipe for arbario rice?
Good Evening,
Any risotto will work with arborio rice (only).
A risotto is when you allow the starches to come from the inside of the short grained rice by slow cooking with stock. The easiest way to do this is to take a small amount of oil in a sauce pan and add diced shallots, some garlic and a cup or two of rice. Allow the shallots (or white onion) to get translucent, just a few minutes. In another saucepan, have either a chicken or vegetable ( about 1 quart per cup 1/2 of rice) stock on simmer. Add the hot stock, ladle by ladle, stirring as much as possible, keep your heat about low medium. Your rice will let you know when it is full, it will stop absorbing the liquid.
At this point you could add anything you want; pearl onions, peas, sauteed mushrooms, roasted bell peppers, sliced/roasted nuts, lemon zest, diced tomatoes…your options are many.
Once you’ve figured out what you are going to add (Or add Nothing… it will taste just as good!) you will finish your risotto by adding several tablespoons of butter, stir that in until it melts. Remove from heat and stir in a couple of handfuls of grated Parmesan or Romano cheeses. Serve! (1/2 cups will serve 4 as a side dish).

Does anyone know the best thing to mix with brandy?
Hey jObo,
My favorite is something called a Keoke Coffee. Take a warmed bar coffee mug (about 6 oz.), add brandy, equal amount of Kahlua (or Kamora) stir and then add fresh coffee almost to the top. Top with whipped cream. (The actual book recipe calls for a drizzle of Dark creme de Cacao – I leave it off, makes it taste kinda chalky). Stir everything together and drink. This is a great after dinner drink especially ’cause it meets your nose first!
Try it, You’ll like it !

Salad Recipe?———————?
Hello Whatshername!
While I love Caesar salad, and have had to make it table side, similar to the other longer recipes that are listed here. My favorite is the cleanest and easiest to make. It is courtesy of Alton Brown, the cook from Good Eats! I love his cooking! Enjoy the recipe!

I can’t seem to find the telephone number or address of a restaurant in Norwich, Ct: Cafe Kaydance.?
Laurie,
I have looked every which way but sideways. Can you post more information, was it in a hotel (many times if they are in hotels or lodges, they won’t be listed separately). How long ago were you there? I know the area fairly well, and it doesn’t ring a bell.
Let me know if I can be of any additional assistance.

La Jolla — what is the best breakfast/brunch place? Need know asap! Thanks.?
Hi,
I have a few favorites in La Jolla.
1). Brockton Villa Restaurant – 858-454-7393 $$ (Moderate)
2). Azul – La Jolla – 858-494-9616 $$+ (Upper Moderate)
3). George’s at the Cove – 858-454-4244 $$$ (Expensive)
But worth every penny. George Hauer is the consummate host and there are several dining rooms available as well as the upper deck. The last time I was there for brunch was Mother’s Day a few years back so they might not have all levels of the restaurant open. Trey Foshee is Executive Chef and makes sure his staff knows that You Are Their Most Important Customer!
4). The Marine Room – 858-459-7222 $$$ (Expensive)
This is the Grand daddy of all Brunches. The Dining room sits on the water, during high tide, the waves break on the windows. Food and Service are the best you will find in San Diego, no matter what meal you are served. Executive Chef is Bernard Guillas. He makes this restaurant shine!
Now whether you can get a reservation or not is iffy if you need one for Sunday Morning (7/09/06). That being said, If your party is small enough they should be able to fit your party in.
The nicest thing is that these restaurants (Except the Marine Room) are all within a few blocks of each other as well as other good brunch restaurants along Prospect Street. There are also hotels along the way like the (5). La Valencia Hotel (The big Pink one!) that also serve Sunday Brunch, I just have not been to any of those other places. That being said, it is La Jolla, and almost any place that you choose, will offer you a very nice brunch
I hope that this was help full, Good Eating!

Where can I buy sam adams summer styles sampler pack? Either at a store or online.?
Hey MN,
I don’t know where you live, but The large warehouse store Price Club should definitely carry it. Also, try looking to see if any local liquor or grocery store in your neighborhood carries regular Sam Adams. Talk to the manager and see if they can’t bring a case or two just for you – it won’t hurt to ask.

can a bar sell a bottle liquor to drink in the bar?
Morning dj,
Your answer depends on where you live and what licenses your state offers. Here in California, If you have a private club license, you can sell the bottle for consumption on the premises, when you are done with your bottle, it is stored in your liquor locker. You will pay for the individual mixers (coke, soda, juice, ice). In some of the nightclubs in the bigger cities, they will do something very similar, but you can’t store the liquor there and you can’t take it with you. It is expensive, about $250.00 for a “well” branded liquor. In Tijuana, most of the clubs will do it that way. You will pay for 1 bottle, that all of your friends will share and they will pay a nominal fee for mixers/ice.
It will all depend on the state and the bar, keep in mind, that even if they do sell the full bottle, and all of you are drunk, they will take the bottle away from you, issue you no refund and kick your butts out!
I am listing a link for a club here in San Diego that does bottle service, but doesn’t charge for mixers. I hope that this helps.
Go to the menu option under “Confidential Info” you will see VIP service and bottle service.

Tijuana? Where to go?
Hey Irish,
Take the SD Trolley line down to the border ( the Blue line ) the last trolley back up on the weekends is 4:30am, I think.
Take a taxi from just over the border to Revolution at 1st (Preimero) 2nd (Secondo) or 3rd (Trieta) Baby Rocks has always been my favorite, but there are always new places and name changes going on all the time. My old favorite was Senior Frogs, but they became Anti-Tourist a few years ago. A good Nude bar is Bolero, classy ladies, and they serve booze. (Bolero’s is near Senior Frogs.
Remember, for a normal amount of guys (4 or so, the standard taxi fare is still $5.00 to go downtown).
Hope you have fun!
James
p.s. I am including the San Diego Transit Schedule information for your trolley information.

this is funny please read it!?
Ah, very funny… But HOTTY! you forgot the rest of the story!
The man shows the coach his Ghost! The Man says ‘I’ve got Spirit, Yes, I DO! I’ve got Spirit, How ‘Bout YOU?” The coach looks startled, then with a wry smile, he pulls out a bottle of rum and opens it in front of the Ghost. The Ghost snags the bottle and before he flies away, He smacks both of them so hard on the head that they are both knocked unconscious!
The moral of this story; If you mix your spirits, you’ll wake up in the morning with one hell of a headache!

Is my honey safe to eat?
Good Morning Wild Eep!
Your honey would take an act of chemical warfare to make it spoil. What has happened is that as your honey has aged, it is starting to form crystals on the side of the container you have it in. It’s partially due to some evaporation, and partly because it is just the dynamic of what honey is used for in the wild. ( A construction material and a food storage system ).
If those crystals bother you, there are two easy ways to get rid of them:
1). Put your honey in a microwave oven and microwave for 10-30 seconds. Remove and scrape down the upper sides and the honey will redissolve into the liquid honey in your container.
2). Warm your honey in a pan of water for about 10-15 minutes. Stir it the same way.
You may also notice that during very humid weather, that your honey has become cloudy. No worries, as soon as the weather clears, the honey will no longer be cloudy.
Honey is the only food made for us by insects and as late as World War 1, it was still being used as an antiseptic. If it’s good enough for Doctors to trust, it’s good enough for you and I!
Since you still might not believe me, I’ve given you a site below.

has anyone else tried the greek yogurt that comes w/ the side pouch of either honey or fruit dip?
Good Morning,
If you were to seed an English (sometimes called a Hothouse or Seedless Cucumber – it’s in the produce section, wrapped in plastic) by slicing the cucumber down the middle and using a small spoon take out the visible seeds, chop the cucumber fine and mix well with the yogurt, you will have a Greek delicacy named Tzasziki sauce, (In Greek restaurants, it comes as a garnish for Gyros sandwiches) it tastes great with lamb, or even makes a great dip for crackers or veggies. If you were to take the same yogurt and grate fresh horseradish into it, spread it on a toasted french baguette and serve it with some grilled, thinly sliced steak, you will have the finest steak sandwich you have ever tasted.
If you can’t find your Greek yogurt, you can come close with American style yogurt. Take a pint of non flavored plain yogurt. Use either cheese cloth or a damp coffee filter, inside a strainer. Mix a little salt, pepper and lemon zest and the juices of 1/2 a lemon into the yogurt. Dump the yogurt into the damp coffee filter or cheese cloth that is lining the strainer. Place over a bowl and refrigerate. A day or two later, dump out the whey that has gathered in the bottom of the bowl and stir. You will have a nice thick yogurt that will taste fairly similar to your Greek yogurt.

can anyone help me wit a recipe on cooking mushroom and note it should be a vegitarian dish plzzzzzzzz?
Good Morning,
I enjoy grilled portobellos, but they have a tendency to drink up too much of the oil, and surprisingly, they taste so much like beef that if you made a choice to switch from meat, you might go off the wagon thinking that you were actually eating meat.
I have two favorites which are great for most common brown or white (button) mushrooms:
Clean your mushrooms by brushing off the tops with a damp cloth. Remove the stems and set aside. and then:
either:
1). take a saute pan over medium heat and drizzle olive oil around the pan two times. let the oil heat up a bit. If your mushroom caps are larger than a bite size, then cut them in 1/2 or in 1/4. Drop into the pan and brown them. Once they are the color that you like, add Salt and Pepper (Don’t do this before they are browned because it will delay the browning), then deglaze your pan with 1/4-1/2 cup of Marsala wine or Sherry. If you don’t do the spirits, an equal amount of veggie stock/broth will do nicely. Reduce the liquid and you have a great topper for a baked potato or a substantial side dish.
or
2). Dice the stems (Or food process them) and toss into saute pan with similar amount of oil and chopped garlic and diced onion or diced shallot. add a little pre-cooked or cleaned baby spinach. sauteed until spinach is wilted. Optional, add a hard grated cheese (a renetless cheese is OK too, but make sure that it is a hard grated kind) and mix in some bread crumbs. Fill your cleaned and lightly oiled mushroom caps with the garlic/shallot/spinach mixture and put into a hot oven (450-550) or under a broiler, until tops are toasty. These make an excellent appetizer, even if you are feeding meaters in your house!
Hope these easy recipes help.

what is bar time in chicago?
Jason,
Bar time and closing time are two different. Bar time is what the bar says it is (usually 15 minutes ahead of the actual time).
Closing time will depend on if the bar is in the city or just the county. Whenever, I have been there, it is not unusual for a bar to close at 2:00am on one side of the street and you go across the street and that bar doesn’t close until 3:00am. Someone answered your question as 4:00am – I have never seen a bar that stayed open until 4:00am near Chicago. The law may have changed in the last 4 years since I was there, though.

Where can I get the best and cheap foods in New York, Philadelphia, and Washington?
Good Evening Devilskitten,
Some of my favorites are those that most people don’t understand (e.g. In Philladelphia I like Jim’s Steaks on South St., Every time I’ve gone there with friends from out of town — They don’t understand the charm of the cooks yelling things like “Hey ******! I’m done with your sandwich, why the F**k am I waiting for you to get out your money….?!”
So that being said, Here are my favorites, without the attitude, mostly:
PHILLADELPHIA:
Down Home Diner
51 N. 12th St.
(Inside the Reading Terminal Market)
It get’s busy, sometime longer waits depending on day and time. Breakfast, lunch & Dinner. Menu is what you’ld expect, decent prices, no surprises! They take cash or Travelers Checks ONLY!
There is also a little Dutch Breakfast place in the Terminal, I can’t remember the name, but it’s right across from Down Home.
WASHINGTON D.C.
Pete’s Diner & Carryout
212 2nd. St. S/E
202-544-7335
Same as Down Home, just the service is much nicer, and I think the food is better. Good Prices.
Clyde’s @ Georgetown
3236 :M: Street N/W
Georgetown
202-333-9180
This is part of a regional chain, I like it because you can go as Cheap or Expensive as you like. They’ve been around for 40+ years and I’ve left you a link to their restaurants below (the menu’s on their site are not complaete, but they will give you an idea of the food.
JALEO
480 7th Street, N/M
Washington, DC
202-628-7949
I like this place because you can have as little or as much as you want. They have like 4 or 5 restaurants in the area. They serve Tapas (Appetizers) as well as full entrees. This is one of my favorite Tapas Places
Their prices at lunch are $7-$13 for Entree’s
Their prices for dinner are $12-25 for Entree’s
Tapas prices are $6-13 and I (at 6’0″ and 185#) can’t eat more than 2!

NEW YORK CITY:
Bread Bar at La Tabla
11 Madison Ave
212-889-0667
La Tabla is world renowned. It’s expensive and it’s a place to be seen., Downstairs, however, is Bread. Bar It’s a wonderful Indian place, expecially good for Lunch. I love their Naan and their Chutney’s (Especially, the Tomatoe Chutney on Garlic Naan 🙂 !
They also have some wonderful steak and chicken dishes (Ohh their buttered chicken is a little pricey, but some of the best I’ve had in N.Y.
The website is listed below (under Tabla – Look under menu for Bread Bar)
Cleopatra’s Needle
2485 Broadway
New York, NY
212-769-6969
This place is funky and cool! Their prices are so right for a dinner house in Manhattan They have a cover, but if you spend only $10.00, you don’t pay for one ! Their prices are much less than what you would expect to pay for dinner and a show. The music is jazz. The food is Mediattaraenean. Prices are 8.95 to about $15 per entree.
Website is below.
Also, II can’t remember alot of the names, but if you ask at your hotel the easiest way to get to the Italian bakeries on Spring St., you will find some of the best baked goods (like chocolate bread 🙂 ) at very nice prices.
Also, at the foot of the brooklyn bridge (Brooklyn side) there is the best homemade ice cream shop with cones about $1.75 per scoop. Once you’ve tried their homemade ice cream, you will never go to a moo time or drowsy maggies or Baskin Robbins again! I want to say that it was called “Brooklyn Ice cream factory” and it’s located where the ferry landing is.
Good Luck, I hope that I helped! Happy trails!

Who are the Bildeburgers?
This goes back as far as written Western History has existed. There is a theory that the Bildeburgers, the Tri-Lateral Commission , Freemasons and even the N.A.T.O. and the World Trade Organization and the World Bank are all controlled by these groups. They are essentially groups of businessmen that decided who would run what countries, who would go to war, who would retain control over riches, fuels, waterways, in ways that could benefit these Businessmen.
A good example was that just before World War 1, the Rothschild’s (Europes richest banking family) needed to increase it’s holdings, and so allegedly, the Rothschild’s put out a hit on Franz Ferdinand so that England and Germany would get into the war. During war, countries have to borrow money to finance the war (we are doing it now with Iraq and Afghanistan!), so the countries involved would have to do business, one way or another with the Rothschild’s.
A great book on the subject matter Is a book called “The Unseen Hand” it is written by a Professor at University of Arizona. It was in paperback when I read it a few years ago. It goes into allot of the “so-called” U.S. Illuminati (the Rockefeller’s, the Mellon’s, the Carnegie’s and many robber Barons of the industrial age) and how they were able to swing elections and decide policy without ever stepping into the White House or Congress.
If you look at the back of a US$ 1.00 bill, you will see some signs of what is supposed to be the Freemason’s input into our government. (The ever watching eye; the 13 levels of the pyramid; the fact that there is a pyramid and I used to know what the latin meant around the seal, but I’ve long fogotten.).
Lastly, in your question, you started with the “Bildeburgers”, it depends on who you talk to, the two theories are:
1). It was started about the beginning of World War 1 by Englishman Dennis Healy who had attended Freemasons meetings and wanted a business group, Just Like Them…
2). It was started in Germany by Prince Bernard, at the start of World War II, he was an SS officer and wanted to make sure that if the Fuhrer didn’t prevail that his and other German royalty assets would be “safeguarded”.
Get that book, should be in used book stores. I really enjoyed it and I am not a nerd.
Hope I could help!

Hi,
There are two site’s that I know of, they are both here in America.
1). Le Travel Store. There are none that I know of that are colorful, since the main objective is to make them blend in with your skin.
2). Rick Steves Travel Store. He is a public broadcaster located in the Portland area of Oregon here in the Northwestern United States.
Both of these sites are listed below and would be happy to forward you information for your home country.

Were you surprised how people change in 10 years? (10 year reunions)?
I wished that we would have had a 15th.
I went to my 10 year and I encourage everyone to go to theirs. It was the most cathartic experience I ever had regarding High School. College didn’t mean so much, since I had stayed in touch with most of my college friends. But High School….!
The Star’s = mostly washed-up has-beens that were going to cash in on whatever fame that carried them to the heights that they had spent those formative years.
The Jock’s = It takes a lot of work to keep those bodies in beer drinking shape. I have a great memory of one footballer, who during the high school years, would make fun of “Fat-Chicks”… Well you guessed it… This football stud not only lost all of his hair, but was more than 200lbs over what he weighed in high school. He hadn’t only lost his hair, but his two previous wives as well.
The Beauties = Didn’t seem to recognize many of these, I don’t know why not?
The plain Joe’s, Plain Jane’s and the rest of the Wallflowers = God/Mother Nature/Fate (?) All played the most delicious notes on these classmates. Most were Confident, Accomplished, Down to Earth, Happily coupled, Content, and BEAUTIFUL – INSIDE & OUT! And the main reason why so many of us miss the Good Ole days of whatever school we missed. It wasn’t the Glitter that we missed, it was the background that made them so interesting. The nicest thing about a reunion, is that the former glitter, now becomes the background to let these fine folks SHINE 😀
Thanks,

Magarita recipe needed from Sunset Sam’s in the Gaylord Palms Resort in Orlando.?
Hi,
As a Bartender of many years, I will share my favorite basic recipe.
Glass full of ice – add:
2 parts Gold Tequila
1 part Triple sec (Or cointreau) If you use Grand Marnier, it should be floated on the top, after shaking, and the orange juice omitted.
1 part Sweet and Sour Mix (Sometimes listed as Margarita Mix)
1 Lime – Large (Not a Key Lime – too tart) freshly squeezed (If it feels a little tough – rub it on a cutting board before you cut it or put it in a microwave oven for 10 seconds on high). Please do not use sweetened Lime juice (Like Roses) or the plastic fake lime that you can find in the produce section.
Splash of Orange juice.
Shake it slightly
Remember, the very 1st Margarita’s in Mexico were only Tequila, Orange Juice and Fresh Lime Juice. NOTHING MORE! I find that the fewer bottled ingredients and the more fresh, the better it tastes.
Good Mixing!

where are the best sushi bars in San Diego also tai restaurants?
Hey Irish,
The place voted #1 sushi in San Diego is a place called Zensei Sushi, it’s a little expensive, but usually busy so it must just be me.
(Web site is below)
My favorite sushi joint is Harney Sushi, in the Old Town area of San Diego. It’s a little touristy there, but they mostly see locals, especially the service workers from the surrounding hotels and restaurants. The nice thing is that they have two rooms, the bar room has live DJ’s and the staff and owners are on the younger side (mid 20’s to late 20’s) and every owner takes his turn at the sushi bar — so you know it will be done right. The prices are terrific.
(Web site is below)
When you get here, look for a publication at the local liquor and convenience stores called “The Reader”. It’s a free publication that comes out on Wednesday nights and has coupons for both of these restaurants as well as many other sushi places in San Diego. Reviews for some are in the rear of the magazine.
Thai is a little different. Everyone in San Diego only likes one Thai place. If they like Taste of Thai, then they don’t like Celadon, If they like Celadon, then they don’t like Lotus Thai, etc. There are two area’s for Thai food without driving for blocks and blocks. The 1st area is next to downtown called the GASLAMP. (Website is below)
It is the trendiest, not necessarily the best. It’s an area to be SEEN IN. But I will admit, there is a lot to see. The Second area is just north of Downtown, it is called HILLCREST. (Website is below)
It’s called bohemian, that’s realtor speak for a lot of Gay people and Yuppies. Prices are better, the wait time is better than in the Gaslamp. As far as UTC/Golden Triangle and La Jolla. You would never be able to park a car or take a bus and just walk around looking at the different restaurants. It’s a “keep the car with me” ’cause the next Thai restaurant is 1 mile away.
Good dining! Hope you enjoy my city 😀
James
p.s. the area’s listed are not cities, they are communities of San Diego, so they may not be listed on certain maps. Look in the front of the yellow pages in your hotel room, those are the best maps :-p

Hey Dulcinea,
As long as you re-cap it, it’s good for a few days. If you can use one of those “Air-evacuators”, it will last a few more.
Fridge doesn’t really help.

Which of them are bad women Porn stars or Prostitutes?
I don’t believe that either are bad women. Just not as socially acceptable. Let me use this as an example; For many years, I worked as a server and as a Bartender. My job was to:
a). Make sure you had a good time.
b). Make sure it was a memorable time and that I assisted you in your time allotment.
c). Make sure that you wanted to come back to my business.
d). Make sure that as much money as you could afford would leave your pocket and enter mine and my bosses.
e). Do all the above with as much sex appeal and innuendo as I could, without going beyond the parameters of a bar/restaurant.
Now as far as I was concerned the only difference between me and the Porn star or the Prostitute was that I got to keep my clothes on! (:-p
Well that’s my opinion.

What can we do to make poverty history?
It may seem simplistic, but several years ago Hillary Clinton said (about child rearing) It takes a village! We may never end corruption in ANY country, but we surely can help our neighbors, locally and globally by mentoring, training, teaching, using our collective expertise to solve each others woe’s. In early America, we never let another farmer fail, we helped that family put up their barn, put up their crops and birth their livestock as well as their children. We cared for our neighbors. Now we fear them. We are worried that an immigrant might take our jobs. We never fear that the immigrant can’t feed his/her family… That, sadly, never seems to be of our concern.
In 1964, President Lyndon Johnson was to create “The Great Society”, this would end poverty, as we knew it, in the United States. Well as we have seen, when government has the way, they never quite get the will. So we have already proven that Governments have no interest in solving the poverty issue. Without poverty, large corporations (I will refer to them as contributors) will not get the reduced labor cost to keep profits high and stockholders happy. What most don’t realize is that if we don’t take care of those in the poverty level, the level will soon overtake us, and before you know it, we are then in direct competition for the lower wage jobs. We are not “contributors” to those in government willing to help the average or below average Joe’s. We don’t have the resources, the lobbyists, the paid consultants. What we do have, however, is our voices and our actions. Convince a local college to mentor several families at the poverty level. I don’t mean the annual food drive around the holidays! I mean lets get our community groups, schools, fraternal organizations and charitable organizations to do more than just supply a family with toys or clothes or a fresh coat of paint on their house. Let’s teach them to fish! Let’s challenge them! Let’s be the seed that keeps their harvest growing! These should be ongoing projects, with input from every corner of our “Village”. We should treat them as we would any fledgling family member. Basking in their success and reviewing their failures.
If we have the brains to put the entire contents of the Library of Congress in the palm of our hand, then we certainly have the ability to lift our most unfortunate out of inherited poverty and make each and every village self sustaining. We should be thankful for every Warren Buffett and Bill Gates that are out there. They alone, can only make the smallest of dents. Those organizations typically assist in global health care. If I make your child healthy but he can’t feed himself, is he any healthier?
We had a start in 1960 when the Kennedy administration started the Peace Corps. That global service was quite noble and started seeds many decades ago. Sadly, it has lost its “Glamor”. We need to insist that it be a part of every college/school curriculum. We don’t need to send our kids to East Timor to understand how poverty destabilizes the world, but 2 weeks a year with Habitat for Humanity or any other community based solution providers each year from age’s 17 to 21 would work wonders to educating the next generation at how close so many people are to inherited poverty. It also would not be a bad idea for employers to allow an extra week of vacation per year to what could be called “village maintenance”. We do it for Jury duty. I can’t think of a more pressing civic obligation than making sure that no FAMILY is left behind!
Lastly, I believe that we need to take down our barriers! No not the ones at our nations borders, the ones in our brains. It can’t be Us vs. Them! In the late 1920’s, the U.S. was on the verge of a great society. Stocks we high, money was flowing, riches abounded for the most affluent. As we know history shall repeat itself. The families that made it through the Great Depression were the ones that could knuckle down and not fear what tomorrow would bring. Let me give you an example; I love my high-efficiency washer and dryer… I don’t know how I could exist without them! Ask a poor family in Arkansas if they could live without their washer and dryer… The question would probably be answered ” Heck, I’d appreciate having electricity or running water!”
Like she said, It will take us, the village, to solve our poverty problem.
what are allotrops?
While I agree, in principal, with several of the answers that you have received (the easiest one is Carbon…Lampblack…Graphite (mixed with very fine clay… it becomes your favorite pencil) and then Cubic Zirconia and then Diamonds) A much easier one to see in a large city would be Oxygen (O2) If you add another atom of Oxygen then you would get Ozone (O3). The easiest to try yourself is to get a supply of Sulfur (from your Pharmacy – it is sold as Flowers of Sulfur) Put about a 1/2″ in a test tube and heat slowly over a bunson burner. It will slowly melt and you can dump it on a rag or shop cloth. It will be hot, but will cool quickly. What you will notice is that you have added nothing to the Sulfur, but when it is cooled, it will look nothing like the sulfur that you have from your pharmacy. The most important thing about an Allotrope is that when it is observed at the same temperature, it will be related, but not a twin! The major difference between any allotropee is that one of two things have happened; time or heat/pressure. A wonderful allotrop is Silicon, when in it’s most elemental form, it is basically a lump of glass that looks like coal, as it deteriorates, it becomes Silicon Dioxide and eventually breaks down to sand.

is it safe to reheat a mussels and pasta dinner?
Hey Elaine,
While I’ve never heard of anyone getting sick, because these are Bi-valves and they may hold some pathogens, I wouldn’t chance it.

What you think about Mcdonald’s food???
Hey Marcos,
I’ve always said this about McDonald’s. They’re consistent!
If you like a Big Mac in Jersey, you will like the Big Mac in London. If you hate the fillet O fish in California, You’ll still hate it in Tokyo. There are never any surprises with McDonald’s.
Yes, it’s bad for you like anything else not taken in moderation (see the movie “Super Size Me!” – of course, let’s try him for 30 days at any fast food place and see what the results are).
I am pretty sure since neither you nor I eat rats (You don’t eat rats… Do you?) that the powers that own McDonald’s franchises have probably not decided to forgo their investment and start serving rats as well (business is bad enough at McDonald’s).
Just my opinion!

how do you tip a bartender?
Hey 21,
As a bartender, here is how I enjoy a tip.
$1.00 for each beer/drink served – That you pay for.
$ amount you would have spent with out the tip for free round. So if 4th round is 3 drinks, then I would tip $9.00 for just that round.
So for the situation:
9 x $3.00 = $27.00 + 4th round = $9.00 = $36.00
Your bartender considers you one of his best customers.
Congratulations
And you can drink in my bar ANYTIME! (Plus, I usually comp. the 3rd round).

How come beer make you not shy when talking to people?
Sorry Ricki,
You make you shy after drinking beer!
All alcohol does is make you more of you!
If you are really introspective, then you get more shy.
If you are extrovert, then you might get more jolly
Neither has anything to do with your outward appearance. Only with you inside.
