What’s the best hotel in New York?
Hey JL,
Hotel INTERCONTINENTAL!

why do we only say ” God Bless you ” when someone sneezes and not when they cough, or hick up?
Hey Michael,
It’s an old pagan term. It was originally believed that if you sneezed that a spirit/ghost in your body was trying to get out.
Saying “God Bless You” – meant that it was hoped that you were able to get (through God’s intervention) the spirit/ghost OUT!
Coughing or Hic-Ups happened so frequently that the early people felt this was a normal body function.
I wonder why it never caught on for the other end… Must have been frequent as well !!

After you die, how do you want to be remembered?
Hey E.W.P.
With the exception of “being the cause of something horrific”….
I just would like to be, …. remembered, …. Fondly!

Why do religious people of all faiths become so narrow minded and unable to listen to other points of view.?
Hey Pete,
I love this question!
Religion, in my opinion, is like a room full of people. You may have smokers, non-smokers, young, old, families, alternative lifestyles, druggies and non-“Room”-believers.
The only thing MOST seem to agree on is that they are in a room.
Everyone has a different belief in what the room should consist of. You even have some that figure that they will tell everyone the most populist ideas in order to “Hijack” the room for their own uses.
In many cases, some will even feel that the room is reserved only for their use and no one else.
The bible, to my knowledge, has no mention of ANY single religion, however, many have used the bible to attempt to cram their views/beliefs/morals down others, including other god (yes, the “g” is meant to be small) fearing members throats.
I believe in Faith, I believe in a Greater Good and I truly believe that there is a Power greater than me.
Most religious persons forget that we are ALL sinners. It is the sin you should hate… Never the sinner (That I know is in the bible!)
Because of this, I have no interest in any organized religion.
Just my thoughts,

Cranberry juice cocktail & Vodka?
Hey Broken,
I am glad you brought this up. About 2 years ago, I noticed that customers started ordering Cranberry Vodka. All were female! I would be very busy and several customers would come up to me and say “Cranberry Vodka” and I would wait….. “And” I would say… Their response was always the same… “And, What?” When I would work on slower nights, I would ask the same customers why they were ordering their drinks like that? They agreed that they would never order;
Coke and Rum
Tonic Vodka
Grapefruit Vodka
The response was just that, “Oh, that’s how my friends order it” I think what changed was that Flavored Vodkas really took off a few years ago and in the clubs, especially us busy ones, we never thought about it.
So now when I hear “Cranberry Vodka” — You are getting Vodka and Cranberry juice!
See you can teach a bartender a few new tricks.

P.S. If you don’t get a lime — don’t be too upset! We still call that a Cape Cod.
DUI Question?
Hey Sweetie,
I reviewed the proposed law known as HB 1222. It was written by Mark Hatfield and is sponsored by 5 other reps. It has very broad support among both parties.
The law changes Georgia’s DUI law by adding “Implied Consent”. Nearly every other state in the U.S. now has Implied Consent. What that means is that you currently have a drivers license in Georgia, you must submit to a chemical test (blood, breath or urine) — If you refuse, your license will be revoked for a period of not less than 1 year.
The reason for this proposed law is that currently in Georgia, if you are stopped and asked to submit to a test, you can refuse and nothing happens (Several Georgia House Reps and State Sens have used that privilege to avoid getting a DUI).
I find nothing in the text of the law that says anything about charging a DD with a DUI. the law text is not so legally written that an average person would have a problem understanding it.
I am listing a link to the proposed law below. If I am incorrect and this is not the proposed law, please contact me with the correct HB number and I will stand corrected.
Relax! I think that a bunch of old guys are just trying to scare everybody.
